York City Derby Dames vs. Southern Maryland Roller Derby Recap

On Sunday June 14th your York City Derby Dames took to the flat track to face off against the ladies of Southern Maryland Roller Derby. It was a hard fought bout with great hits and jukes but try as they might, the ladies of Southern Maryland could stop The Dames. York City started with an early lead and continuously built up the points jam after jam while the blockers kept Southern Maryland jammers at bay. Solid walls and quick footwork pushed the Dames out to a 118 – 45 point lead at the end of the first half.
The Dames wanted to continue extending their lead at the start of the second half. Despite the efforts from the ladies of Southern Maryland, York continued to capitalize ultimately taking the taking the win 260 – 74.
MVP Blocker went to #222, Pair O’ Docs. Her solid bracing and bridging proved to be a force to be reckoned with for the Southern Maryland jammers.
MVP Jammer went to #11 Ratchet. Her long legs and quick movements made it hard for her to be contained and put 59 points on the board for The Dames.
The York City Derby Dames would like to thank everyone who came out to support the team, Maple Donuts for sponsoring our halftime show, the girls from Southern Maryland Roller Derby and all of the referees and non-skating officials for making this bout possible.
